Hmong refugees began settling in the Washington Park neighborhood in the late 1970s to the early 1980s. Today, there are more than 15,000 Hmong living in the city of Milwaukee. Hmong tell stories of people, buildings, landscapes, home and homeland from multiple locations across the world. Tommy Yang interviewed and conducted ethnographic research on Hmong residents of Washington Park for over a year. These stories come out of this research.
